Myth of My Own Creation

This painting depicts a compound mask with a semi-lifelike carved portrait of me wearing the yellow outfit on top of the Blue mask of Maya which resembles my current-life iteration. The figure is flanked by 2 carved blood orange trees, one bearing abundant fruit with rotting fruit falling below, and the other dead and at the end of its life cycle. The title has multiple meanings, referring to my own act of authorship in my story, and to the unreliable nature of that story.
